Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 17 July 2025, Director of the Pharmaceutical Industry Development Agency of Uzbekistan, Abdulla Azizov, held a meeting with a representative of the international pharmaceutical company Galenicum (Spain).

Founded in 2003 in Barcelona, Galenicum operates across the full pharmaceutical value chain—from R&D and manufacturing to drug registration and distribution. The company is present in over 50 countries, employs more than 800 people, and reports an annual turnover exceeding €300 million.

During the meeting, the Galenicum representative expressed interest in localizing production in Uzbekistan, implementing technology transfer, and making direct investments in the country’s pharmaceutical sector.

In response, Abdulla Azizov welcomed the initiative and confirmed Uzbekistan’s readiness to provide comprehensive institutional support to facilitate Galenicum’s entry into the local market and to build a long-term strategic partnership.
