Some 698 joint stock companies operate in Uzbekistan

As of 25 March 2016, there are 698 joint stock companies, including 24 banks and seven investment funds.
According to the Central Depository of securities, total volume of issued shares makes up 17.62 trillion soums, of which 4.03 trillion soums were issued by the commercial banks.
The Depository underlined that some 2.32 trillion ordinary and preferential shares are in circulation now.
