Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ministry of Health estimated that on 1 January 2023, 2,155 babies were born in Uzbekistan: 1,056 girls and 1,099 boys.
According to the department’s statistics for previous years, in 2018, on 1 January 1961 children were born, in 2019 – 1,708 children, in 2020 – 1,974 children, in 2021 – 1,644 and in 2022 – 2,316 babies.
Ferghana region became the leader in terms of birth rate, in which 252 new residents were added in a day. Data for other regions are also published:

Namangan region - 219,
Surkhandarya region - 213
Samarkand region - 213,
Andijan region - 187,
Tashkent region - 170,
Tashkent city - 154,
Bukhara region - 126,
Karakalpakstan - 105,

Khorezm region - 76,
Navoi region - 69,
Syrdarya region - 39.
The Ministry of Health clarified that among the newborns born on 1 January there are 20 pairs of twins.
