Sodiq Safoev meets with members of the delegation of the French Senate Interparliamentary Friendship Group "France - Central Asia"

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 31 August 2021, the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sodiq Safoev met with members of the delegation of the French Senate inter-parliamentary friendship group "France-Central Asia" headed by its chairman Hervé Morey.

During the conversation, the distinguished guest sincerely congratulated the people of Uzbekistan on the 30th anniversary of independence and expressed readiness to do everything possible to raise the inter-parliamentary cooperation of Uzbekistan and France to a higher level.

It should be noted that in order to further develop bilateral inter-parliamentary relations in 2008, an inter-parliamentary group for cooperation with the Senate of the French Republic was created in the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, it was noted that inter-parliamentary cooperation plays an important role in enhancing friendly ties between our countries. In particular, today Uzbek-French cooperation has been established in the political, trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian, scientific-technical and other spheres. It was noted that it had risen to a new level after the state visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan in October 2018 to France.

The parties also discussed the achieved results of bilateral cooperation and the development of inter-parliamentary dialogue.
