“Smart Territories” to Be Developed in Andijan in Partnership with Huawei

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Practical steps have begun in the Andijan region to introduce artificial intelligence technologies and digital solutions as part of the President’s directives on developing “smart” regions.

The Governor of Andijan region, Shukhratbek Abdurakhmonov, held a meeting with the Vice President of the Chinese company Huawei Technologies.

The parties discussed the training of qualified specialists for the positions of digitalization and artificial intelligence advisors to mayors, as well as learning from Huawei’s experience in digital transformation.

During the talks, plans were outlined for the digitalization of public services, the implementation of artificial intelligence technologies, and the development of projects aimed at transforming the city of Andijan into a “smart city.”

In addition, the sides agreed to implement joint programs to create “smart territories” in the region using Huawei’s solutions. The projects will be introduced in stages in the near future.
