Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico stated that Uzbekistan and Slovakia are working together to ensure legal, ethical, and mutually beneficial labor migration.

“Economic partnership is not only about goods and capital — it’s also about people. Uzbekistan plans to send up to 200,000 labor migrants abroad in 2025, which aligns with Slovakia’s interests in securing a skilled and reliable workforce,” he noted.

Fico also reported that in 2024, the Slovak Embassy in Tashkent issued nearly 3,000 work visas — three times more than in the previous year.

“We are cooperating with the government of Uzbekistan to simplify visa procedures and to ensure legal, ethical, and mutually beneficial employment,” the Slovak Prime Minister emphasized.
