Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A Slovak company has already invested US$10 million to develop 500 hectares of sandy land in Tuproqqal’a district, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced.

The President noted that the foreign investor plans to expand the project by bringing an additional 4,500 hectares of sandy land into agricultural use.

The next phase of the project will attract a further US$170 million in investments, aimed at cultivating rapeseed and producing bioethanol.

President Mirziyoyev instructed the relevant authorities to provide comprehensive support to ensure the successful implementation of the initiative.
