Siemens partnership with Uzbekistan: development of new projects in the energy and industry
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On the eve of the official visit to Germany of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Merziyoyev, Siemens signed a number of strategic partnership agreements with Uzbek companies in implementing projects in the energy and industrial sectors.
The development of the energy sector also applies to the document signed between Uzbekneftegaz and Siemens. The companies intend to establish cooperation in the implementation of projects for the digitalization of technological processes for the extraction of hydrocarbons. In particular, we are talking about the implementation of digital solutions in the areas of "Smart Well", "Digital Field", "Digital Terminal / Oil Depot", "Center for Monitoring and Diagnostics."
Within the framework of the partnership, Siemens technologies, solutions and international experience in the field of digitalization will be studied.
Another Memorandum on modernization of generation facilities was concluded with Uzbekenergo JSC. The document implies cooperation on the modernization of the Syrdarya TPP and the Novo-Angren TPP.
The German company intends to propose solutions that will significantly increase the efficiency of these power plants. We are talking about repowering (the transformation of a steam power plant into a combined-cycle gas turbine unit) based on the modern 8000H gas turbine together with the operating K-300 steam turbine.
Also, Siemens and Chirchik Transformer Plant signed a contract for the supply of high-voltage bushings for 110 kV transformers.
The documents signed with Uzbek partners at the beginning of 2019 are a new step in the implementation of the large-scale cooperation program between the Republic and Siemens announced in 2017. Then agreements were signed on technology partnership in the field of the fuel and energy complex, “smart cities” (digitalization of urban infrastructure), and also healthcare.
“Siemens considers Uzbekistan as one of the promising markets in Central Asia and is ready to assist in the implementation of the country’s ambitious plans to modernize the economy.
