Shomurodov’s Goal Helps İstanbul Başakşehir Defeat Karagümrük in the Turkish League (Video)

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan national team captain Eldor Shomurodov played a key role in İstanbul Başakşehir’s 2–1 victory over Fatih Karagümrük in the 18th round of the Türkiye Süper Lig.

Two Uzbekistan internationals, Eldor Shomurodov and Abbosbek Fayzullayev, were named in the starting lineup. It was Shomurodov who opened the scoring in the 15th minute, netting his 13th goal of the current Süper Lig season. After receiving a cross from the left flank, the striker rose well and headed the ball accurately into the net.

In the second half, Fatih Karagümrük managed to draw level when David Datro Fofana scored in the 75th minute. However, the hosts had the final say. In the 87th minute, Ömer Ali Şahiner struck the winning goal to secure all three points for İstanbul Başakşehir.

Abbosbek Fayzullayev was substituted in the 57th minute, while Eldor Shomurodov left the pitch shortly before the final whistle, in the 89th minute.

After 18 matches, İstanbul Başakşehir have collected 26 points and currently sit sixth in the Türkiye Süper Lig standings.
