Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today Tashkent hosted a conference on the theme "Perspective directions for the development of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz strategic partnership", organized by the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan (ISMI) together with the National Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic (NISI).

Speaking at the event, Sheradil Baktygulov, a researcher at the NISI under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, highly appreciated the current dynamics of relations between the two countries.

According to the NISI expert, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev laid the foundation for new relations between our countries. Today, one can argue about the emergence of a new phenomenon in the foreign policy of both Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. The presidents of the two states are in favor of expanding multifaceted cooperation.

The multi-vector policy in diplomacy has been replaced by a multi-faceted diplomacy aimed at achieving a common goal - to further deepen and strengthen bilateral ties in all areas. In both states, there is a change in the focus of foreign policy towards a comprehensive approach to the development of the country and the region as a whole.

The conference, organized by ISMI jointly with the National Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, was attended by experts from leading scientific and analytical centers, as well as ministries and departments of the two countries.

The participants of the event exchanged views on the results of Uzbek-Kyrgyz cooperation achieved in recent years, outlined prospects for further strengthening cooperation in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian spheres.
