Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Colonel Shavkat Rakhmonov has been relieved of his duties as First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan and Head of the Ministry’s Operational-Search Department.

His information has been removed from the official website of the ministry, though no formal announcement regarding his dismissal has been made.

Reports indicate that on 3 March, Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov announced Rakhmonov’s dismissal in a harsh manner.

On the same day, Aziz Tashpulatov was introduced as the new Minister of Internal Affairs.

Shavkat Rakhmonov had held the position of First Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs since February 2023.
