Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Open Islamic Civilization Center

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev is set to visit the Center of Islamic Civilization in Tashkent, where he will review its infrastructure and exhibitions. The visit will include an official opening ceremony of the complex and an iftar event.

The Center of Islamic Civilization is considered one of the largest modern architectural and cultural projects in Central Asia. Its exhibitions showcase Uzbekistan’s rich religious, historical, and cultural heritage using advanced museum technologies, including artificial intelligence-based solutions.

The complex is located in the historic part of the capital near the Hazrati Imam Complex, which has long served as a major center of Muslim pilgrimage. A centerpiece of the exhibition is the 7th-century Uthman Quran, a unique relic included in UNESCO’s “Memory of the World” register.

The museum’s collection includes more than 2,000 rare manuscripts and historical artifacts, many of which have been repatriated to Uzbekistan in recent years under cultural heritage programs.

Experts note that the new complex could become a major attraction for tourists, researchers, and scholars, as well as a significant scientific and educational hub preserving the legacy of the golden age of Islamic science and culture.
