Shavkat Mirziyoyev Supports Uzbekistan–Poland Logistics Corridor Project for the European Market

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan plans to establish the re-export of its products through Poland in order to optimize logistics and reduce delivery costs to Europe. This was reported on 15 January by Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Poland, Amirsayid Agzamkhodjaev, during a videoconference meeting attended by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The diplomat emphasized that new opportunities for cooperation have emerged following the Uzbek president’s visit to Brussels last year and the signing of an Enhanced Partnership Agreement with the European Union.

A Polish adviser on Central Asia has proposed elevating relations with Uzbekistan to the level of a strategic partnership.

According to the ambassador, Poland’s geographical location provides all the necessary conditions for organizing the re-export of Uzbek goods and establishing logistics hubs for onward delivery to Europe.

“Speaking about logistics, after border closures Poland’s exports to Central Asia have virtually come to a halt. They are looking for new routes. I ask for permission to work on this issue on a parity basis,” Agzamkhodjaev said. President Mirziyoyev noted that Uzbekistan could establish logistics routes through Poland without difficulty, while the creation of joint hubs would allow goods to be stored and transport flows to be optimized.

As an example of regional cooperation, the diplomat cited the visit of Adam Struzik, Marshal of the Masovian Voivodeship, to Uzbekistan in late 2025. During the visit, he met with Tashkent Region Governor Zoir Mirzaev and visited Samarkand, where issues related to the storage and transportation of goods were discussed. According to the ambassador, the Polish side is ready to provide a logistics hub in Mazovia, while Uzbekistan would offer a corresponding facility in Tashkent Region.

The president noted that the cost of cargo transportation to Europe has doubled due to the current geopolitical situation, reducing the competitiveness of Uzbek products.

In this context, the ambassador was instructed to prepare proposals aimed at lowering logistics costs, including the opening of a dedicated corridor for Uzbek cargo carriers at the Brest border checkpoint.

This step is expected to strengthen the country’s export potential and improve access for Uzbek goods to the European market.
