Shavkat Mirziyoyev sent condolences to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev sent condolences to President of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan in connection with traffic accidents in the provinces of Mardin and Gaziantep of this country, which led to numerous casualties.

The head of our state expressed words of sympathy and support to the families and friends of the victims, wished a speedy recovery to the victims.

16 people died, 29 were hospitalized with injuries of varying severity as a result of an accident in southeastern Turkiye. This was announced on Saturday, 20 August by the head of the Turkish Ministry of Health, Fahrettin Koca.

The accident occurred in Derik County, Mardin Province. The heavy truck’s braking system failed and it crashed into a crowd of people at full speed, the minister wrote on social networks.

The accident in the province of Mardin has become the third major traffic accident in the current day in Turkiye. Prior to this, information was received about an accident in the province of Gaziantep in the same region (south-east of the country) involving a bus. 25 people were hospitalized, traveling from Trabzon to the Turkish capital. Citizenship of tourists is established.
