Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed to open an office of the UN Office of Counter-Terrorism.
The President of Uzbekistan, in his address to the participants of the high-level international conference "Regional cooperation among the states of Central Asia in the framework of the Joint Action Plan for the implementation of the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy", held in Tashkent, proposed opening an office of the UN Counter-Terrorism Office in the Central Asian region.
As the head of state noted, further successful implementation of the counter-terrorism strategy in the region requires strengthening the mechanisms for constant monitoring and critical assessment of the implementation of the Joint Action Plan, coordination of interaction between the countries of Central Asia.
At the same time, the head of state, in order to achieve maximum effect in countering terrorism in Central Asia, proposed to ensure its close cooperation with leading international and regional organizations involved in resolving security issues.
