Shavkat Mirziyoyev pays tribute to memory of Islam Karimov

The Uzbek leader paid visit to the burial place on Islam Karimov in Samarkand. Shavkat Mirziyoyev paid a tribute to the memory of Islam Karimov. The Quran verses were recited.

On 30 January, Uzbekistan celebrates the birthday of the First President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov, who would turn 79 today.

Islam Karimov was born in Samarkand on 30 January 1938. On 29 December 1991, he was elected as the President of Uzbekistan. Islam Karimov died in Tashkent on 2 September 2016 and he was buried in Samarkand.
