President Shavkat Mirziyoyev stated that after his meeting with Alexander Lukashenko in Samarkand in 2016, relations between Uzbekistan and Belarus intensified. He also noted that the trade turnover between the countries grew significantly, the press service of the Uzbek President said.
It was underlined that economies of two countries complement each other, there are large unused opportunities for cooperation in the fields of agriculture, textile and food industries, engineering and others.
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said that Belarus is interested in developing a comprehensive partnership with Uzbekistan.
He stated that Belarus regards Uzbekistan as an important economic partner in Central Asia. Relations between countries develop on the basis of the principles of friendship and interest.
The parties discussed issues of organizing joint ventures, expanding the network of trading houses, developing cooperation in the sphere of deep processing of raw materials.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev invited the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko to visit Uzbekistan.
