Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President Shavkat Mirziyoyev sent condolences to President of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan in connection with the numerous casualties as a result of an explosion in a mine located in the province of Bartin of this country.
The head of our state conveyed words of sympathy and support to the families and relatives of the victims, as well as wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured miners.
The incident occurred on Friday evening in a mine in Bartin province in northern Turkiye. As A Haber TV channel reported, 115 people were at the site of the explosion at a depth of 300 meters underground, some of them were evacuated. According to Governor Bartyn Nurtaj Arslan, 49 people were trapped in the mine as a result of the incident.
The number of victims of an explosion at a mine in northern Turkiye has increased to 41, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said. Earlier, Interior Minister Suleiman Soylu reported 40 dead.
“I regret to report that the death toll is 41 at the moment,” Erdogan said in a media statement from the scene.
