Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A festive event was held at the International Congress Center in honor of 8 March - International Women’s Day.

The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev cordially congratulated the women and expressed his deep respect to them.

“From time immemorial, our people have revered the sacred image of the Mother, a woman as an incomparable creation of the Almighty, surrounds her with love and care,” the head of state said.

As you know, the measure of humanity and justice of any society and state is, first of all, the attitude and attention to a woman. To achieve such a lofty goal as to ensure a peaceful and prosperous life for our people, special attention is paid to ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of women. The conditions for their work, education, health promotion, and the well-being of their families are improving.

This work has been identified as one of the most important areas of the Development Strategy. A 1 March videoconference identified even greater opportunities for women. In order to ensure the systematic and effective implementation of these tasks, the corresponding post of Deputy Prime Minister was re-established, and the State Committee for Family and Women Affairs was created.

The structure of the committee will also include deputy chairmen for women and family issues of almost 9.5 thousand mahallas operating in the republic, in each mahalla the position of a person responsible for resolving women’s issues is reintroduced. In this way, a fair and effective system will be formed that will deal with women’s problems and their daily concerns on an ongoing basis.

The National Program to Support Women’s Education for 2022-2026 will be adopted.

At the initiative of the President, the Women Mentors movement is being created, which unites authoritative and respected women in its ranks, which will be able to influence the formation of public consciousness and the upbringing of the younger generation. At the same time, women’s councils are being set up in order to effectively address women’s problems in all labor collectives.

In order to further increase the number of women working in the field of entrepreneurship, the Women in Business program will be adopted, within which funds in the amount of 8 trillion soums will be allocated.

Also this year, women will receive a 40 percent subsidy for mortgage loans. This will provide needy women with 12,000 modern apartments.

Funds in the amount of 15 trillion soums are allocated for the implementation of this unprecedented for our country large-scale work.

– Women and family issues are a key task that determines our not only today, but also tomorrow. Every good deed in support of our women, the keepers of the family hearth, personifying love and selfless devotion, will undoubtedly return a hundredfold tomorrow,” said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The President addressed all the women of the republic and called on them to actively participate in the huge transformations:

“Today we have entered a new historical era of comprehensive development of our country. Introducing children to great goals, educating them on the basis of noble ideas is the main duty of all mothers in Uzbekistan.

Undoubtedly, the upbringing of a young generation with high human qualities, courageous and courageous, devoted to the Motherland, depends primarily on you. This is the most important investment in the future, our greatest wealth.

According to the decree and resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated March 5 this year, a group of women were awarded honorary titles, orders and medals, twenty-eight girls were awarded the Zulfiya State Prize.
