Shavkat Mirziyoyev Discusses New Energy Projects with Turkish Minister

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 5 December, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation from the Republic of Turkey led by Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar.

The meeting was also attended by executives of leading Turkish companies AKSA, represented by Cemil Kazancı, and Cengiz Energy, represented by Ahmet Cengiz. At the start of the meeting, the high-level guest conveyed sincere greetings and warm wishes from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

During the talks, the parties discussed further development of Uzbek-Turkish relations, comprehensive strategic partnership, and multifaceted cooperation. The current high level of bilateral interaction was noted with satisfaction: mutual trade and investment figures are increasing, the number of joint ventures is growing, and the network of direct flights is expanding.

Special attention was given to the activities of Turkish companies in Uzbekistan. Together with them, projects for the construction of modern power plants with a total capacity of 1.8 gigawatts have been implemented, with an estimated investment of around 1 billion US dollars.

Additionally, the parties discussed advancing new joint projects in the energy and geology sectors, including the localization of modern technologies, production of energy equipment, improvement of distribution network management, development of promising fields, and training of specialized personnel.
