Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated the people of Uzbekistan on the holiday of Eid al Adha

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Dear compatriots! On this blessed day, when our hearts are overwhelmed with lofty feelings, I sincerely congratulate the Muslims of our country, all our people on the holiday of Eid al Adha, which is a symbol of peace and thanksgiving, kindness and mercy, I express my deep respect and best wishes to you.

On behalf of the people of Uzbekistan, I sincerely greet and congratulate the entire Muslim ummah of the world, our foreign friends and partners, who are happy to welcome this holy holiday.

This year it is taking place on the eve of a glorious historical date - the 30th anniversary of the independence of our Motherland, which gives it even greater spiritual strength and significance.

The desire to live in peace and harmony, to work conscientiously in an independent country for the sake of great goals is fully consonant with the humanistic essence of our sacred religion.

In recent years, thanks to the selfless work of our people, as in all other spheres, a huge work has been carried out to revive and develop our sacred religion and national spiritual values.

At the new stage of the country’s development, much attention is paid to a deep study of the richest scientific heritage of great thinkers, a worthy continuation of the traditions permeated with the noble ideas of our religion.

Organization of the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan, the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan, international research centers of Imam Bukhari, Imam Termezi, Imam Moturidi, the Mir Arab higher madrasah, the creation of schools of hadith, kalam, fiqh and Sufism, the construction and restoration of dozens of new mosques and places of worship - all this testifies to the scale of work in this direction.

Today in Uzbekistan, along with the legal rights and freedoms of citizens, their needs in the religious sphere are also fully met. In this regard, it should be especially noted that recently a new version of the Law “On Freedom of Conscience and Religious Organizations” was adopted.

Dear compatriots!

One of the most important principles of establishing peace and tranquility in society is social and religious tolerance. In our country, representatives of different confessions live as a single family, in an atmosphere of friendship and harmony, and make a worthy contribution to the prosperity of our common homeland. This is the greatest asset.

As you know, our people over the centuries have acquired a unique experience of the harmonious development of secular and religious knowledge. A practical confirmation of this is the invaluable heritage of our great scientists and thinkers, who, with their outstanding scientific discoveries, spiritual and educational thinking, left a bright mark on world history.

Today, new opportunities are opening up for an in-depth study of the rich heritage.

I am convinced that our wise and noble people, effectively using this knowledge in the upbringing of a harmoniously and spiritually advanced generation, will certainly achieve their lofty goals.

Dear compatriots!

In the current difficult time of the pandemic, the proposal of the wise ulema to perform religious rites by our fellow citizens at home, with the family, is undoubtedly the most correct decision aimed at preserving the life and health of the people.

On these bright holidays, we all ask the Almighty to support us in overcoming the difficult trials that all of humanity is going through today.

Once again, I sincerely congratulate you on the holy holiday of Eid al Adha, I wish you health, happiness, peace and prosperity, prosperity for your families.

May the Almighty always protect our people!

May peace and tranquility always reign in our native Uzbekistan!

Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan
