Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the successful holding of presidential elections in the country.

The head of Uzbekistan also congratulated the elected President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on his convincing victory in the elections.

On 12 March, presidential elections were held in Turkmenistan. The son of the incumbent head of state Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, won the election with 72.9% of the vote.

He was recognized as the elected president of Turkmenistan, the country’s Central Election Commission reported.
