Shavkat Mirziyoyev Approves Civil Aviation Development Strategy Through 2030

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 27 October, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev issued a decree aimed at streamlining state policy in the field of civil aviation, the Ministry of Justice’s Legal Information Channel reported.

The document outlines the goals for the development of air transportation through 2030, including expanding the fleet of domestic airlines to 180 aircraft.

Over the next five years, the number of domestic and international flights is planned to reach 200,000 annually, with total passenger traffic of up to 24 million people.

From January 2026, government budget funding for the Civil Aviation Agency (“Uzaviatsiya”) will cease, and the allocation of 20% of net profits from the Uzaeronavigation Center to the Agency Development Fund will be canceled.

The President previously announced industry development plans at the ceremony marking the foundation of the new Tashkent airport on October 15, emphasizing the priority of modernizing transport infrastructure and expanding the route network to 230 destinations.

Uzbekistan aims to become a major aviation hub, connecting East and West, North and South.
