Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

During a telephone conversation, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin warmly thanked the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev for the hospitality and excellent organization of the SCO summit held in Samarkand. This was reported by the press service of the President of the Russian Federation.

Some topical issues on the bilateral agenda, including in the trade and economic sphere, were discussed. The mutual disposition to further strengthen the Russian-Uzbek strategic partnership and alliance was confirmed. The Russian side expressed support for the efforts of the leadership of Uzbekistan to stabilize the situation in Karakalpakstan.

A schedule of upcoming contacts was also considered.
