Shavkat Mirziyoyev and King Abdullah II Discuss Escalating Situation in the Middle East in Telephone Conversation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 4 March, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, held a telephone conversation with King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The discussion focused on the critical situation in the Middle East and prospects for bilateral cooperation.

During the conversation, both leaders expressed deep concern over the sharp escalation in the region observed in recent days. They emphasized that the intensification of the conflict seriously undermines regional security and stability, while also inflicting tangible damage on intergovernmental relations.

The leaders underscored the urgent need to immediately halt any actions that threaten state sovereignty, peace, and the safety of citizens, especially during the holy month of Ramadan, which holds significance for the entire Muslim community. They reaffirmed that existing conflicts and challenges must be resolved solely through peaceful and diplomatic means.

President Mirziyoyev conveyed solidarity and support to the leadership and people of Jordan during these difficult times. In response, King Abdullah II expressed deep gratitude to the Uzbek leader for his friendly approach and sincere words of support.

Concluding the conversation, the King expressed firm confidence that the upcoming historic high-level visit to Amman will mark a successful and fruitful stage in the development of bilateral relations.
