Share of Electric Vehicles in Uzbekistan to Reach 10% of Passenger Car Fleet by 2030

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The updated “Uzbekistan-2030” Strategy, presented for public discussion on the SOVAZ platform, outlines an active development of the electric vehicle (EV) market in the country.

According to the document, the share of electric vehicles in the passenger car segment will reach 1.9% in 2026 and 2.7% in 2027.

The forecast anticipates an acceleration in the adoption of electric transport, reaching 5% in 2028 and 7% in 2029.

The strategy’s culmination will be in 2030, when one in ten passenger cars in Uzbekistan is expected to run on electric power.

Achieving these goals will require the creation of necessary EV charging infrastructure, the development of maintenance services, and support for domestic electric vehicle production, marking an important step in the digital and ecological transformation of the country’s automotive sector.
