Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - By decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shahrukh Shaturunovich Sharakhmetov, a former Deputy Minister of Health, was appointed Chairman of the Antimonopoly Committee.
Shahrukh Sharakhmetov was born in 1977. In 1998 he graduated from the Tashkent State University of Economics, and in 1999 - from the University of Exeter in the UK with a degree in economics, finance and investment.
Prior to his appointment, Shahrukh Sharakhmetov worked as a leading specialist at the Center for Coordination and Control of the Securities Market under the State Property Committee, held positions of responsibility in such organizations as the Ministry of Economy, the State Committee for Tourism Development and the Presidential Administration.
Prior to his appointment as Deputy Minister of Health, Sharakhmetov served as Deputy Minister of Finance.
