Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Honored Artist of Uzbekistan Sevara Nazarkhan will act as the ambassador of the Samarkand Half Marathon charity race, which will take place on 1 November 2020.

“We are very pleased that Sevara Nazarkhan wanted to support our project. Sevara is a bright personality who not only creates interesting projects, but also inspires others with her own example. In addition, Sevara has long been keen on running and is in excellent physical shape. Participants, when registering on the website, can choose from the list of clubs “Sevara’s Team” and thus support not only the race, but also our ambassador,” said Mirkhan Sagitov, curator of the Half Marathon.

Samarkand Half Marathon is an annual charity run organized by the Foundation for the Development of Culture and Art under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and the State Committee for Tourism Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as the khokimiyat of the Samarkand region.

This year, the organizers are focusing on the possibilities of people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and the problem of access of people with disabilities to cultural and art objects. The event will address issues of creating an inclusive environment for people with autism and the possibility of their integration into the social, cultural and public life of our country.

The proceeds from the Samarkand Half Marathon will be used to create a children’s art studio in one of the boarding schools in Uzbekistan for children with autism.
