Sevara Akhbaeva: Pre-University Course helped me to be successful and win grant
She studied at Pre-University Course of Continuing Education Center of Inha University. She also scored top in the Final Exam of IUT Pre-University Course and was automatically admitted to IUT.
Surprisingly enough is that she selected information technologies as her major, which is rare in our time. Female students prefer other professions to engineering. This can be related to existing stereotype that some female students do not like mathematics and physics.
Sevara Akhbaeva mentioned that her parents played an important role in her achievements in education . “In my family getting university degree is an essential part of our life. For instance, my father, Nurlan Akhbaev, director of private firm “Dinara-Audit”, and my mother, Muhabbat Akhbaeva, pharmacist-technologist of pharmaceutical company “Mir Farm Shifo”, were graduates of the Tashkent State Agricultural University and the Tashkent Pharmaceutical University, respectively. Therefore, they have always been supporting me in study and want me to get higher education in a prestigious university in order to have a successful start in my career,” she said.
“Following my parents’ footsteps, I also decided to get a degree, but, compared to my parents’ professions, I have chosen another area – Information Technology,” Sevara added.
“I chose IUT as higher educational institution, when I was a second-year student in the Academic Lyceum of World Economy and Diplomacy, and in that moment I understood that IUT is indeed the university I want to study at,” she underlined.
“Why did I choose IUT? I think that IUT is one of the leading universities in Uzbekistan, where we can get excellent education and become a specialist in our sphere. Furthermore, I was impressed by an opportunity to be taught by foreign professors using different teaching methods, which give us a great amount of useful and necessary knowledge for our future career and experience,” Sevara Akhbaeva noted.
“I attended Pre-university Course of Inha University in Tashkent for 9 months. During the course period, I could obtained necessary knowledge, which helped me to achieve my aim. At the final exam I got the highest score, thus became a student of IUT on the contract basis. However, I decided not to stop and make efforts in order to win a grant at entrance exam. Fortunately, I again was at the top of the successful students’ list at entrance exam,” she added.
“Pre-University Course had a significant and positive influence on my preparatory process. I read about Pre-University Course in the newspaper and without any doubt decided to register, because they provide us with opportunities to be acquainted with the atmosphere of the university and, of course, to be taught by highly qualified teachers, whose methods of teaching were definitely efficient and professional.
“In the future, I am going to direct my brother in getting higher education and help him to make the right decision in choosing his future profession, as my parents did for me,” she concluded.
