Sergeli to become closer to the center of the capital

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- About ten years ago, Tashkent residents discussed the well-known projects for the construction of a road through TAPOiCh and a bridge from Choponota Street above the Small Ring Road. Then these projects seemed unrealizable, but ten years later they are being implemented before our eyes: a road was built through Tuzel, shortening the path to Charvak, and the construction of a new road to Sergeli began.

On 14 September, a press tour was held, organized by the khokimiyat of the city of Tashkent and dedicated to acquaintance with the overpass under construction in Yakkasaray region. The complex of engineering structures under the conditional name "Kipchak road" will make the movement from the center of the capital to Sergeli and back as fast, convenient and safe as possible. The total length of the new road is 6 kilometers, 597 meters falls on the bridge, conventionally called the Choponot bridge. During the press tour, journalists were introduced to this large object - passing over the Small Ring Road, and over the railway, and over the Salar Canal.

The bridge was designed by our engineers together with Turkish specialists, it is being built by a Turkish company, which has created many bridges, including the famous bridge across the Bosphorus, linking Europe and Asia. A company spokesman said that all the metal and cement for the bridge comes from Europe. In particular, the "movable skids" through which the bridge ceilings on the supports are installed are supplied from Italy. The supports are installed on piles up to 17 meters deep. The special strength of the floor beams is achieved by the prestressed concrete technology. The increased strength allows the height of the bridge floor beams to be reduced. Along the way, it is necessary to solve many engineering problems: for example, for the construction of an exit to the Small Ring Road, the channel of the Salar canal will be moved, and the high-voltage line passing in the area of the bridge will be removed underground. It is also important that Turkish specialists teach our builders - in this way, in the future, we ourselves will be able to build bridges using the most advanced technologies.

The project manager Timur Samutdinov said that the new interchange is designed to relieve the only road that runs through Uzgarysh and connects Sergeli with the city center. It is expected that on the new road there will be a flow of cars from three to four thousand per hour in one direction only. In total, the road under construction will have three large interchanges: a bridge over the Malaya ring road, a tunnel under the Tashkent ring road and a bridge on Kipchak street in the Khanabad region. The bridge will provide six-lane car traffic, three lanes in each direction, and will contain pedestrian and bicycle paths. Beautiful poles are provided for night lighting.

Some of the cars that create a traffic jam on Uzgarish at rush hour will head to the center along a new road. Some of them will move onto the Small Ring Road, some will go along Shota Rustaveli, some will continue along Choponota Street. According to the plan, in the near future there should be no traffic jams on any of the directions and the travel time will be sharply reduced.

The length of the bridge, as we have already indicated, will be 597 meters, and the total length together with the ramps will be 950 meters. The bridge will have 47 pillars, some of which will be 13 meters high. The total cost of construction is 280 billion soums. According to the plan, the overpass should be opened in a year - in the fall of 2021, and everything suggests that this stressful period will be met.
