Behzod Musaev, head of the Uzbekistan Migration Agency
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During recent talks between the presidents of Uzbekistan and Serbia, the opening of a Serbian embassy in Tashkent was discussed, said Behzod Musaev, head of the Uzbekistan Migration Agency.
On 28 October, President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić met with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev in Tashkent. Several bilateral documents were signed, including a key Memorandum of Understanding on labor migration between the Uzbekistan Migration Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers and the Serbian Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs.
Answering questions about the opportunities the document creates for Uzbek citizens, Musaev noted that it provides multiple advantages. In particular, it allows Serbian companies to hire Uzbek citizens under organized labor migration programs.
He added that during the talks, the issue of opening a Serbian embassy in Tashkent was raised, since the embassy is currently located in Moscow, creating certain difficulties for those wishing to work in Serbia.
Additionally, the parties discussed the possibility of direct flights between Tashkent and Belgrade, which would reduce travel costs for citizens.
Musaev emphasized that the Memorandum also establishes conditions for allocating quotas for Uzbek workers in Serbia.
