Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At a meeting of the Senate Committee of the Oliy Majlis on budget and economic reforms with the participation of senators, members of the expert group under the Committee, deputies of local Kengashes, members of standing commissions, representatives of relevant ministries and departments, the media, issues to be discussed at the next plenary session of the Senate were considered.

In particular, at the meeting of the Committee, the focus of discussions was the Law “On Amendments to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On State Pension Provision of Citizens” and the Law “On Electronic Commerce” in a new edition.

It was noted that the current Law "On Electronic Commerce", adopted in 2015, does not correspond to the rapidly changing trends in the development of electronic commerce today.

In particular, the current Law does not cover all e-commerce entities and current relations between them, causes misunderstandings in the practice of exchanging documents related to e-commerce, when applying the issues of payment and return of goods mechanisms.

Based on this, the Law "On Electronic Commerce" in the new edition establishes a specific procedure for concluding electronic contracts, that is, the legal force of electronic documents, requirements for an offer, features of storing electronic documents, the procedure for conducting an electronic transaction, as well as the conditions for concluding electronic contracts.

Speaking about the Law “On Amendments to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On State Pension Provision of Citizens”, it was noted that this Law was developed as part of the social protection policy pursued in our country, aimed at respecting human dignity, and it pays special attention to improving the pension system regular increases in pensions.

In particular, it was emphasized that, according to the Law, from January 1, 2023, the maximum amount of the average monthly salary for calculating a pension will be increased from ten to twelve times the base amount for calculating a pension. According to these laws, proposals and opinions of senators, scientific experts and deputies of local Kengashes were heard.

As a result of the meeting, the appropriate decision of the Committee was adopted.
