Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 9 November 2022, the thirty-fourth plenary session of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held in Tashkent.

It was attended by senators, government members, representatives of ministries and departments, members of the Youth Parliament under the Senate and media workers.

The plenary session, which was held in the format of videoconferencing, was chaired by the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva.

The senators considered the Law "On Ratification of the Treaty on the Structure and Principles of Functioning of the TURKSOYA (Almaty, on 12 July 1993)".

It was noted that the Treaty, signed by 6 countries, is the founding document of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY).

The main goal of TURKSOY is to improve mutual understanding between the Turkic-speaking countries and peoples, further rapprochement and strengthening of multilateral cultural ties, familiarizing future generations with the origins of national culture.

During the discussion, it was emphasized that Uzbekistan has accumulated a rich and fruitful experience of cooperation with this organization.

The senators expressed the opinion that the ratification of the agreement will be another evidence of Uzbekistan’s commitment to the consistent strengthening of cultural and humanitarian cooperation with partner countries.

The law was approved by the senators.
