Senator Requests Report on Uzbekistan EV Charging Stations

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The development of electric transportation and expansion of EV charging infrastructure has become a growing priority in Uzbekistan.

Civil society representatives, entrepreneurs, and relevant agencies are working systematically to organize, maintain, and support the operation of charging stations for electric and hybrid vehicles.

However, recent analyses have revealed shortcomings in the operation of some stations. Reports of temporary power outages and restricted service at privately operated charging points have circulated on social media, sparking public concern.

In response, Kobuljon Tursunov, Deputy Chairman of the Senate Committee on Budget and Economic Affairs, submitted a senatorial inquiry to Energy Minister Jurabek Mirzamahmudov. The request seeks clarification on the causes of outages, measures to support station operations, and plans to prevent such incidents in the future.

Ensuring stable operation of charging stations and promoting environmentally friendly transport remains a national priority.
