Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 27 October 2021, a meeting was held between the First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Sodyk Safoyev with the Chairman of the American-Uzbek Chamber of Commerce (AUCC) Carolyn Lamm, who arrived in our country to observe the presidential elections as an international observer.

During the meeting, Carolyn Lamm highly appreciated the preparation and conduct of the presidential elections, emphasized that she had previously observed the election campaigns in Uzbekistan, in contrast to which the current campaign is distinguished by greater openness and transparency, sociability of both voters and candidates, and increased public interest. In particular, there was a high turnout of citizens, especially young people.

The parties discussed the dynamic development of the Uzbek-American multifaceted cooperation in the spheres of economy, education and others. According to Carolyn Lamm, the reforms carried out in Uzbekistan in the past 5 years on foreign policy, development of entrepreneurial activity, contributed to the strengthening of guarantees of foreign investors and thereby increased the confidence of entrepreneurs of foreign countries in our country.

The parties also considered other issues of mutual interest.
