Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 23 December, a regular meeting of the Kengash of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held. It was conducted by the Chairman of the Senate Tanzila Narbayeva.

At the meeting, a resolution was adopted to convene the thirty-sixth plenary session of the Senate on 27 December 2022.

It was noted that at the next plenary meeting, which will be held in the form of videoconference, it is planned to discuss a number of issues.

Among them are priority areas arising from the Message of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Oliy Majlis and the people of Uzbekistan, as well as the laws “On the State Budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2023”, “On Amendments to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the State Budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2022”, “On Crime Prevention”, “On Accreditation of Conformity Assessment Bodies”, “On Restriction of Distribution and Consumption of Alcoholic and Tobacco Products”.

Along with this, at the next plenary meeting it is also planned to consider the laws “On technical regulation”, “On ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of the Republic of Turkey on the transfer of convicts (Tashkent, on 29 March 2022)” and “On amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan”.

In addition, the senators will discuss the work carried out on projects identified to further improve the infrastructure of mahallas, as well as issues on the implementation in 2022 of the Strategy for achieving gender equality in the Republic of Uzbekistan until 2030 and the approval of comprehensive measures for its implementation in 2023.

The plenary session also envisages the approval of resolutions of the Kengash of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis.
