Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – A meeting of the Kengash of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan was held.

At the meeting, it was decided to convene the twenty-first plenary meeting of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan on 18 November 2021. It was moderated by the chairman of the Senate Tanzila Narbaeva.

A number of issues will be discussed at the plenary session, which will be held in the form of videoconference. In particular, the senators will consider the Constitutional Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On the State of Emergency", the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On Hydrometeorological Activity".

The agenda will also discuss the laws "On amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the improvement of legislation on intellectual property objects", "On amendments and additions to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan" On protection of consumer rights", "On making additions and changes to some legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the improvement of the legislation on citizenship of the Republic of Uzbekistan”.

In addition, the focus of the senators will be the laws "On amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the adoption of additional measures to ensure the guarantees of the rights of women who find themselves in a difficult social situation", "On amendments and additions to some legislative acts Of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the improvement of the quarantine and plant protection system”.

The law "On Amendments and Additions to the Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Administrative Liability in Connection with the Liberalization of Administrative Penalties for Committing Certain Offenses in the Transport and Financial Spheres" will also be discussed.

At the plenary session, it is planned to hear information from the Director of the National Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights on the status of implementation of the international obligations of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the field of human rights.

Senators will consider the results of a parliamentary inquiry sent to the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the problems of providing the population with drinking water.

At the same time, the issue of sending parliamentary requests to the Cabinet of Ministers on the state of medical care provided to pregnant women and women of reproductive age, as well as infants, and on increasing the responsibility of employers on issues related to labor relations of women in the light industry and the leather industry will be discussed.

It is also planned to hear the report of the Committee on Science, Education and Health on the activities in 2020 and the past period in 2021.

The plenary session will also discuss other issues related to the powers of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis.
