Shavkat Mirziyoyev won the presidential elections in Uzbekistan, which were held on 4 December 2016. He collected 88.16% votes of the voters.
On 12 December, UzLiDeP, which holds the most seats in the Legislative Chamber, adopted decision to propose Deputy Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov to the post of Prime Minister for consideration of the President of Uzbekistan.
