Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 8 October 2019, the Chairman of the Committee on International Relations, Foreign Economic Relations, Foreign Investment and Tourism of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Alisher Kurmanov held a meeting with the Ambassador of Norway to Uzbekistan, Johan Björnöy.

The parties discussed issues of bilateral cooperation, security and regional development in Central Asia, as well as the results of the participation of the delegation of Uzbekistan in the Oslo Forum in June 2019.

It was noted that Uzbekistan plays a key role in ensuring stability in the region, as well as the restoration of Afghanistan. The parties noted the need to intensify political dialogue and further development of relations between the countries of the region.

It was emphasized that one of the priority areas of bilateral cooperation should be the development of trade, economic and investment cooperation, which has significant potential.

During the conversation, issues of cooperation in bilateral and multilateral formats, as well as other topics of the current agenda, were also discussed.
