Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Senate of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan heard the report of the khokim of the city of Tashkent on the development of territories.

It was noted that some work has been done on the comprehensive development of the city of Tashkent. For nine months of this year, the gross regional product in the city of Tashkent amounted to 87.8 trillion soums, an increase of 14.1% compared to the same period of last year. The gross regional product per capita amounted to more than 31.2 million soums.

In 8 small industrial zones of Bektemir, Mirzo-Ulugbek, Almazar, Sergeli, Uchtepa, Chilanzar, Yunusabad, Yakkasaray districts, 582 investment projects worth 1 trillion 237.3 billion soums were implemented, import-substituting products worth 239.2 billion soums were produced.

As part of the decisions on the socio-economic development of Bektemir, Uchtepa, Shaykhantaur, Yashnabad, Yangikhayot districts, 120 investment projects were launched in the field of industry and services for a total of 6.8 trillion soums, about 11 thousand new jobs were created.

In total, products worth US$911.9 million were exported, the plan was fulfilled by 37.2% surplus, the export geography covers about 80 countries.

Based on the localization program for the production of products that are in high demand in the domestic and foreign markets, 221 projects have produced new types of products worth 2 trillion 946.6 billion soums, which is 2.5 times more than in the same period last year.

Within the framework of the Digital Tashkent program, a geographic information and analytical system, a geoportal, has also been introduced, into which more than 30 information systems of ministries and departments are integrated.

The “People’s Control” portal and its mobile application have been launched, carrying out active public control over ensuring the quality of urban infrastructure and public services. More than 2 thousand out of more than 3 thousand problematic issues received from citizens through the portal have been positively resolved.

Along with the ongoing great work on the development of the city of Tashkent, some problems and shortcomings were noted. So for 2020 and the expired period of 2021, 30 owners were not paid compensation payments to compensate for damage caused in connection with the seizure of land for state and public needs, there is a need to create additional transport hubs in order to ensure the interconnection of public transport, especially in busy places, and ensuring the possibility of a safe short-term passage of passengers from one transport to another.

It was noted that due to a technical malfunction of 16.6% (196) of buses belonging to Toshshahartranskhizmat Joint Stock Company, the frequency of movement is not ensured, the waiting time for passengers in some directions is 25-40 minutes.

The efficiency of water treatment at the existing wastewater reception facilities Salar, Buzsuv and Bektemir in the city of Tashkent under the project is 75%, but today these facilities operate at 35.5-51.3% of capacity.

Insufficiently carried out measures for cleaning by spraying water with dust generated due to a sharp increase in construction sites in the city, which leads to excess dust emission into the atmosphere.

In the current academic year, 25 secondary schools in the city of Tashkent operate with a power factor of over 2.1. The need for the construction of new schools is increasing, as the number of school-age children is expected to grow to 496.1 thousand by 2026.

As of 1 November 2021, the level of crime and delinquency increased 3 times compared to the same period in 2020.

Information technology has been actively developing in recent years. At the same time, new types of fraud offenses are emerging. So, over the past period of this year, 580 crimes in the field of information technology were committed in the city of Tashkent, which is 13 times more than in the same period last year.

A serious challenge to the criminogenic situation is a sharp increase in the illegal traffic among the population of psychotropic and potent substances, controlled drugs. This is clearly evidenced by the fact that during the events carried out in 59 pharmacies by the internal affairs bodies, cases of illegal sale of a total of more than 66 thousand various potent medicines were revealed.

At the meeting, the senators stressed the need to take appropriate measures to address existing problematic issues, heard and discussed information from the heads of responsible ministries and departments.

Following the discussion, a corresponding resolution of the Senate was adopted to eliminate problematic issues awaiting their decision in the city of Tashkent.
