Senate forms Commission on control over prosecutors’ bodies

On 19 February, Councils of Senate and Legislative Chamber adopted a resolution on formation of Commission of Senate of Oliy Majlis on control over activities of prosecutors’ bodies in order to further improve organizational-legal mechanism of parliamentary control over activities of prosecutors’ bodies, reliable protection of citizens’ rights and freedoms.

The resolution said that the members of the commission are selected among Senators for the term of their authority. The commission will include 15 persons, representing each region of Uzbekistan.

At the meeting, the Senators formed and approved the structure of the Commission on control over activities of the prosecutors’ bodies.

The commission was entrusted to conduct systematic parliamentary control over activities of prosecutors’ bodies, protection of citizens’ rights and freedoms, etc.
