Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 2 April 2025, the Chairwoman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Tanzila Narbaeva, held a working meeting with the Head of Gender Policy and Youth Initiatives Programs at the Secretariat of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), Zeyno Hilal.

During the negotiations, the parties discussed key aspects of implementing state reforms aimed at achieving gender equality, emphasizing the significant role of parliament in this process.

Particular attention was given to preparations for thematic forums focused on gender equality and enhancing women’s social activity, which will be held as part of the 150th anniversary Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

The meeting participants highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation between legislative and executive bodies to implement measures that expand the economic and social opportunities for women and promote the principles of equality.

Following the negotiations, the parties agreed on specific steps to develop bilateral cooperation and establish additional mechanisms for supporting women and youth in the long term.
