Senate considers report on Ombudsperson’s activities in 2015

It was noted that Ombudsperson’s activity in 2015 was directed at conducting measures on strengthening parliamentary control for adhering to human rights and freedoms by the state bodies and officials, as well as assisting to improve legislation in this sphere.

Several events directed at improving legal culture of population and strengthening cooperation with civil society institute with the state bodies, law enforcement agencies and judicial structures, as well as conducting mechanisms of public control over their activities.

Special attention was paid to consideration of appeals of the citizens on violation of their rights and freedoms, as well as adopting measures on rehabilitation of their rights.

Ombudsperson underlined that legal culture and awareness of population is improving.

At the session, Senators made several proposals and recommendations, directed on further improving activities of Ombudsperson.
