Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Tanzila Narbaeva, speaking at the beginning of the twenty-first plenary session of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, noted that the activities of the Senate have been updated in their form and content.

- The efficiency and effectiveness of our legislative and control activities has increased, - T. Narbaeva noted. “Through serious attention to openness and transparency, a strong bond has been established with our people. The reaction, suggestions, criticism of the population have become the factors determining the direction of our activity.

The past presidential elections have clearly demonstrated the solidarity of our people, their serious attitude to the fate of the country, a sense of belonging to the reforms carried out in recent years and firm confidence in the future. 

The head of state defined the principle "From the Action Strategy to the Development Strategy" as the main criterion for the reforms of the new period. The development strategy of New Uzbekistan, consisting of seven directions, provides for the full-scale implementation of the ambitious goal "In the name of honor and dignity of man."

The Chairperson of the Senate noted that today our people freely and boldly exercise their will. They ask their proxies - us, deputies and senators - to express our principled attitude towards important events, changes, problems and shortcomings in public life. They have every right to do so. In these conditions, it is absolutely impossible to work on the basis of old views and approaches.
