Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 25 March 2020, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Chairperson of the Commission for Ensuring Gender Equality of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbayeva met with the head of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Odile Renaud-Basso.

During the meeting, the current state and prospects for deepening cooperation between the EBRD and Uzbekistan on the development of women's entrepreneurship were discussed.

The parties noted the high level of interaction between Uzbekistan and the EBRD achieved in recent years.

Odile Renaud-Basso congratulated on the successful holding of the Tashkent International Investment Forum and confirmed the readiness of the EBRD for full support in achieving the goals of the New Uzbekistan Development Strategy.

The head of the EBRD delegation emphasized the scale of the transformations and reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan aimed at improving the living standards of the population, reducing poverty, and ensuring gender equality.

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue fruitful cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
