According to the law, citizens of the country, foreign citizens and stateless persons can be awarded with the state awards of Uzbekistan. It is established that citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan can be awarded with foreign state awards.

The law defines types of state awards, including the title of "Uzbekiston Qahramoni", 34 honorary titles, 11 orders, 4 medals of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Certificate of Honor of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The range of subjects eligible to submit to state awards has been expanded.

In accordance with the new law, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the chairmen of the Supreme Judicial Council, the Central Bank, the State Security Service, the Accounts Chamber, the Central Election Commission, as well as state and economic management bodies, other republican institutions, Non-governmental non-profit organizations represented by their republican bodies can offer candidates to the state awards.

The law establishes the right of the President to independently initiate the awarding of state awards. Awarding of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan with state awards is initiated and carried out by the chambers of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

n the law, a special place is occupied by the rules on the use of state awards. In particular, the procedure for their wearing, wearing ribbons on slats and miniature copies of state awards, storing and using the image of state awards is determined.
