Senate approves law on social services
The Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan submitted the law to parliament.
The law was adopted in order to further improve legal base of providing social services, rendered to needy categories of population, setting general requirements and main directions of their provision, as well as improving role and responsibility of the state, NGOs and business entities in the sphere.
The law envisages measures on strengthening monitoring and public control over execution of the law in the process of providing of social services.
The law firmly sets main directions of the state policy in improving efficiency of providing of social services, determines category of population, who needs social services, criteria and order of providing services.
The law also determines forms and types of rendered social services, especially in education, employment and healthcare. It also regulates issues of inter-departmental and social partnership in the sphere.
The document sets tasks, functions, rights and liabilities of the authorized bodies and organizations, including civil society institutes, business entities on providing social services to vulnerable layers of population, etc.
