Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- From 1 July 2020, a simplified registration procedure for self-employed people was introduced in Uzbekistan. So, as of 8 July, 43,700 people have passed official notification registration as self-employed persons. This was reported by the press service of the State Tax Committee of Uzbekistan.

Top 5 regions in terms of the number of registered self-employed so far are:

Namangan region - 8 929 people;

Bukhara region - 6 964;

Samarkand region - 6,426;

Tashkent city - 5,050;

Andijan region - 2 957.

Of the 67 activities available to self-employed people, the following 5 areas are most in demand:

 - in the field of household services (hairdressing, manicure, cosmetology, pedicure, washing and ironing at home, making keys, sewing shoes, repairs and painting, etc.) - 14,293 self-employed;

- in the production of consumer goods and the service sector (selling bread, popcorn at home, ice cream, salads, soft drinks, ayran, tugs and trading in agricultural products on dehkan markets) - 9,935 self-employed;

- the provision of services in the field of agriculture (grazing and care, assistance to the owners of household plots for planting and caring for agricultural crops) - 7,069 self-employed;

- the provision of services in the industrial sector (wooden architecture, plumbing, electrical installation, waste paper, plastic, scrap metal and more) - 6 106 self-employed;

- the sphere of social services (tutoring at home, childcare and care, housekeeping, cleaning, traditional medicine and others) - 5,525 self-employed.

For citizens, who want to become self-employed, it is enough to register in the SOLIQ mobile application and pay the social tax for 2020 (111,500 soums). After that, this amount is sent to the extrabudgetary Pension Fund for calculating the pension, and seniority is counted towards the person.
