Second Forum of University Rectors of Uzbekistan and Korea Held in Seoul

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 4 December 2025, the second Forum of University Rectors of Uzbekistan and Korea took place in Seoul. The event was jointly organized by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Korea and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The forum brought together senior officials from both ministries, representatives of university associations, as well as rectors and delegations from more than 25 leading universities.

The event opened with welcoming remarks by Vice Minister of Education of the Republic of Korea Park Sung Min, President of Ajou University Hyungju Park, Chair of the Korean Council for University Education Yang Oh-Bong, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Korea Alisher Abdusalomov, and Director of the Institute for Retraining and Advanced Training of Higher Education Personnel of Uzbekistan Uzoqboy Begimkulov.

During panel sessions, rectors and representatives of leading universities from both countries exchanged experience and delivered presentations on the development of higher education, training specialists in artificial intelligence, creating joint educational programs, and conducting scientific research.

Following the forum, bilateral meetings were held, during which agreements were reached on several new initiatives.

More than 20 cooperation agreements, contracts, and memorandums were signed during the event.

The forum became an important platform for strengthening Uzbekistan–Korea cooperation in higher education and science, promoting advanced technologies in artificial intelligence, and supporting the training of highly qualified international-level specialists.
