SCO’s 2016 priority is Tashkent summit – SCO Secretary General
He said that the SCO is an organization of new type. Mutual trust and benefit, equality and mutual consultations, respect to diversity of cultures and intention to joint development became main principle of interaction of the member states. He added that the SCO directs its energy to support peace and stability in the region.
SCO Secretary General said that 2016 is special in the history of the SCO as the leaders of the organization will gather in the summit in Tashkent in June and assess activities of the organization for 15 years. The main priority of the SCO for 2016 is to prepare to the summit in Tashkent, he said.
Rashid Alimov stated that the SCO family grew three times in last 15 years – now it unites 18 states, where over 3 billion people live. He noted that the SCO activities will not bet directed against anybody.
